Devotion  and  Desperation

How they relate

Desperation is often referred to as the "bad" devotion and is generally accepted as a negative emotion among the public views. In the case that the object of this categorically obsessive behaviour is a singular object, the audience considers it "stalking" and is uncomfortable with the obsessor.

To the public eye, these two are weighed as almost the same with no difference between them; when in reality they are more alike than they are unlike the other making them similar to love and hate's relation to each other. They both have a loving factor contributing to them and even though they may be taken to "negative" and "positive" extremes they are still more alike in make-up than anything else. Their kinship and almost parent-offspring comparison to the other makes them related emotions instead of the same emotion.

On another note, they tend to show a kinship of father-son relation because desperation can be commonly seen as the offspring or by-product of devotion.

Devotion is usually associated with the concepts of love and relationships and is accepted as a positive emotion in general. However it can be divided into "good" and "bad" categories by the response of the audience, public, or society in which or to which it happens along with the circumstances.
